Global IT spending to surge

Global spending on IT services will hit $700 billion by 2008, up from $650
billion from the previous year. Source: IDC. (Our comments: If these figures are correct, the technology sector will be front and center stage for many companies this coming year.)

New Year Full of Promise

Global IT Resources, Inc is heading into the 2008 New Year with a strong order book and expects to accelerate its position in the coming months. Explaining this situation in a period of economic stability, "We have been careful to focus in a few well positioned, growth oriented, industry verticals and have reaped the rewards of focusing clearly on certain geographic areas and in hard to find skills. Our extensive niche skill databases have also enabled us to successfully take advantage of gaps in the staffing markets.

We feel confident that our organization will grow progressively on the back of our existing success. The New Year looks to be one that, provided we work diligently, will be full of promise" said COO, Cathy Trevett

Staffing for Dynamic AX (formerly Axapta) Market Update

With the coming of the New Year, activity in the Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Axapta) marketplace continues to grow at record pace. Recent announcements on ZDNet, and BusinessWire showed that many Microsoft Solutions Providers / System Integrators focused in this area have reported bumper annual revenue growth and improved profits over last year. Indeed some MSP’s have announced 150%+ increases on their previous year’s figures.

The rapidly improving sales of the Dynamics AX ERP can be viewed as having very positive effects on the medium to long term staffing market. The increased attention that this ERP is generating is attracting many of the more skilled consultants away from existing ERP’s such as ORACLE, BaaN, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards, (ERP’s that no longer have stellar growth paths). The medium term effect of this will eventually commoditize the Dynamic AX staffing market. However, according to Mike Williams, CEO at Global IT Resources (GITR), over the next year, this points toward continued shortages of experienced Axapta Functional Consultants and X++ Programming staff. A situation that is likely to persist in the USA and Canada throughout 2008.

“We expect the overall ‘08 market to grow at a similar rate to ‘07” said Mike Williams. “This will inevitably mean a scarcity of well qualified candidates. We at GITR are gearing up to meet the demands created by this the situation through the addition of 2 new Recruiters to our specialized Dynamics AX Division, along with improvements to our www.axaptrecruiter.com website and the soon to be launched www.dynamicsaxrecruiter.com (expected in May ’08).
